The founder and the principal of KHA Arkitek is Khalid Haji Sirat. He completed his degree in Bachelor of Science, Master of Science and Post Graduate Diploma, all in Architecture at University of East London from 1989 to 1993. During his academic years, he received a commendation from the British Steel Student Award for having the highest standard of design. He got his corporate membership with Royal Institute of British Architect in 2001 which pronounce him as a Chartered Architect. In 2008, he was the corporate member of Persatuan Ukur Jurutera & Arkitek.

Khalid Haji Sirat was working as Architect with Architect Section at Department of Technical Services, Public Works Department, Ministry of Development from 1994 to 2011. Throughout his working experience for 17 years, he had obtained vast experience on project implementation including feasibility studies, designs, contract documentations, tender, tender assessment, construction to completion, site inspection and contract administration.

With his 10 years practicing as a full Chartered Architect together with his significant level in project management skill, he was entrusted to handle varieties type of project: from being simple to highly technical buildings, prestigious and complex buildings, urgent projects as well as non- technical project such as computerization, free trade initiative, quality management, administration etc. Working with Ministry of Development- as one the main technical agencies in Brunei Darussalam- allowed for the enhancement on professional skill and knowledge through structured professional development program provided. Various courses, seminars and exposures were given to him throughout his working years with the ministry.
